A grandmother nearly ended up weeping into her Whopper after a Burger King employee called her and her daughter-in-law b**** ass h**s on a receipt.
The customer, who identified herself as “Miss Lorel,” tried not to cry as she told Richmond, Virginia news station WTVR that the receipt was “more than an insult.”
“I mean calling you names on a piece of a paper, that will hurt somebody,” she said, adding that she’ll never visit Burger King again.
Although she had picked up her order at the drive-thru, the receipt angered Lorel enough to confront the manager of the BK, who apologized to her.
“He said it had never happened before,” she said.
Burger King Media Relations confirmed in a letter to WTVR that calling a customer a b**** ass h** is, in fact, against company policy:
“BKC has recently been made aware of a photo that shows an alleged receipt from a franchisee-owned and operated restaurant that does not comply with our customer service policy. We are working with the franchisee, who is investigating the matter, to determine the origins of this photo.”
Franchise owner John Naparlo apologized for the incident and told WTVR that he would review the restaurant’s surveillance tape to figure out which of his employees brought a grandmother to tears.
UPDATE: The Huffington Post reports the worker in question has been fired.
