Shocking really. Pure sexism.
Pretty awful practice - shows you how powerful males are in many communities, and it is all about them and what/who they can play with. It would be great to stop it - but it is a big ask.
And sadly in many Islamic communities. NZ is keeping an eye on some communities. They take the girls overseas and marry them! When they return they are definately their man's spouse!
